We couldn’t be happier to introduce Polkamon as an official partner to the 2021 Moralis Hackathon!

Polkamon – Official Partner to the 2021 Moralis Hackathon

It’s with great pride we at Moralis introduce Polkamon as an official partner to the 2021 Moralis Hackathon. This is yet another exciting partnership for the ongoing Moralis Hackathon, which runs from now until its deadline on June 15th, 2021. The hackathon will let developers show off their skills in building the Web3 applications (dApps) of tomorrow while competing for a total prize pool of $50,000.

”Partnering with Moralis for the Moralis Hackathon allows us to directly help encourage the developer community to create tomorrow’s innovative dApps. What’s more, our involvement can invigorate developers to build great projects for the wider Polkamon ecosystem both during the hackathon and long after,” said Leif Eric Leiser, CEO of Polkamon.

”We are thrilled about this opportunity to, together with Polkamon, showcase the great Web3 development tools provided by Moralis. Partnering with an exciting company like Polkamon will undoubtedly inspire even more developers to try their wings competing in the Hackathon and enable them to build great dApps,” said Ivan on Tech, Founder of Moralis.

Moralis allows developers to build Web3 applications (dApps) without having to worry about the hassle of setting up and managing the necessary backend infrastructure. Specifically, Moralis gives developers access to a completely free, fully managed, and infinitely scalable backend infrastructure for building Web3 applications.

The total prize pool of $50,000 will be divided among three winners. The project that comes in the first place will win the grand prize of $30,000. However, the first runner-up will also get a substantial award of $15,000, and the second runner-up will receive an award of $5,000. A jury will choose the winning teams following the hackathon’s June 15th deadline.

Polkamon Hackathon Example Use Cases

It’s entirely up to you what type of project you want to build in the 2021 Moralis Hackathon. However, we strongly encourage you to build your project with our official 2021 Moralis Hackathon partners in mind, such as Polkamon. To help you get some inspiration for this, we’ve compiled a few examples of Polkamon compatible projects. For example, hackathon participants could build battles directly on the Polkamon ERC-721 tokens. In a similar vein, a hackathon project could also build a Tamagotchi-esque experience featuring Polkamon dragons.

Another potential use case example for a Moralis project built with Polkamon in mind could be tapping into the growing number of Polkamon collectors and creating some sort of tool for Polkamon holder analytics. For example, this could conceivably take the form of a collector leaderboard where the biggest collectors and NFTs are publicly visible. Seeing as the information is already publicly available on-chain, a project like this could be built relatively easily. Moreover, a tool like this could have even more potential with the introduction of stake battles.

What are Polkamon?

Polkamon are beautifully animated digital collectibles with varying scarcities. Each Polkamon is backed by a truly unique NFT and can be unpacked with $PMON tokens.

By combining an ERC-20 token with ERC-721 collectibles, Polkamon introduces an entirely new approach to the NFT ecosystem. Upcoming features like NFT staking or battles may even further increase the utility of the PMON token.

The different Polkamon variants and rarities allow developers to create manifold games based on Polkamons NFTs. Further, developers could build fusion portals, special breeding mechanisms, or any other type of interaction between holders and their Polkamon using Moralis.

What’s more, the Polkamon organization is willing to airdrop special Moralis Polkamon to winners of the Moralis Hackathon if they build something with Polkamon. All 2021 Moralis Hackathon developers are also invited to request custom artwork for the Hackathon or for special Polkamon features.
